Sean and Ed's 2023 Christmas Newsletter
As another Christmas comes around, we come to the end of another year of fun-filled memories shared with our friends and families.
Our 2nd Annual Christmas Newsletter marks the second year of us both living together. With 2022 being very much the Year of Firsts for both of us, it was nice for us to start building some sense of familiarity at home as we navigate our careers and experience life with our friends and family.
On the work front this has been a big year for both of us. Ed was promoted to the role of Consultant in the Cloud & Engineering team at Deloitte and Sean settled as a solicitor in the Corporate (Energy & Resources) team at HSF. Both promotions have been quite challenging (but rewarding) as we started to get more responsibility and build on the skills that we learnt as Grads.
In terms of highlights with our friends and family? There are too many to count, but a few (in no particular order) include:
- World Pride 🌈🌈: Experiencing the magic of Sydney World Pride this year was definitely a huge highlight for both of us! We started off scoring last minute tickets to the Opening Concert which was an absolute hit. A core memory for us was seeing Kylie Minogue close off the concert with "All the Lovers" alongside Dani. Simply iconic! The rest of the weekend was somewhat a blur... basically consisting of lots of drinking, partying and hangovers that were backed up with more parties. Brisbane Tritons: At the beginning of the year Sean joined the Rookies program for the Brisbane Tritons Water Polo Club. This was hands done one of the best (albeit nerve-wracking) decisions he's made this year. Not only has water polo been a great sporting outlet for Sean, but he's also been able to experience the social aspects of the club, including participating in the Reef vs Beef Little Gay Day dance off and now organising the 2024 Brisbane Tritons float for Mardi Gras! One of the best things about the club has been the really great friends that we had acquired along the way. Ed has also joined the Brisbane Tritons after completing the Rookies Program this November and we're both looking forward to continuing to be a part of the club in 2024.

Surprise Engagement (not ours!): In July we were so blessed to witness our besties Jack and Taylor get ENGAGED at their surprise Straddie proposal weekend. We both (alongside friends and family) snuck onto the island one Friday afternoon and was able to witness our handsome friend Jack kneel on one knee to ask our beautiful friend Taylor to be his wife. The rest was history and we had an amazing weekend in Straddie.

Night Outs and Festivals: Of course it wouldn't be a typical year for Sean and Ed without many fun evenings, parties and festivals where we spend time with our friends.

Travels: Exploring Melbourne with Lachie, Carmen and Alessia, followed by our getaway to Tasmania.
As we look ahead to the New Year, we both hope you all have enjoyed your Christmas festivities with your families. We look forward to seeing all of you for another fun filled year in 2024!
